Zero Chat

A private messenger with a crypto wallet inside. Chat right away under a random name or claim your @handle as an NFT, talk end-to-end encrypted, run groups and channels, and send money like a message. Wallet, Shield, private swap and ZeroLink, all in one extension. Nothing is stored.

Testnet build, protocol not audited, test coins only. A Chrome Web Store listing is planned; until then install manually below.

This is the real app running in your browser. Create or import a wallet, then send, receive, use Shield and make ZeroLinks without claiming a handle. Keys stay in this browser and never reach our servers.

How private is it?

Messages are encrypted on your device and the relay never learns the sender. Your handle and its public keys are public by design, so people can find you; who you talk to is not. The relay keeps no history. Honest limits: the protocol is not audited yet, forward secrecy against a stolen identity key (Double Ratchet) is next, and nobody can stop a recipient from taking a screenshot.

Chat without minting

Start instantly under a random name like ~swift-kite-2f70c2b1. It is derived from your key, so nobody can fake it. Free, no wallet funding needed.

@handle as an NFT

Want a permanent name? Mint @yourname on ZeroChain. Only your wallet can move it or change its keys, so nobody can take it. The small zkTRACE fee is burned. Ethereum minting comes with mainnet.

End-to-end encrypted

X25519 + XChaCha20-Poly1305, signed with Ed25519. Sealed sender: the relay sees ciphertext only and never learns who wrote to whom.

Nothing is stored

Messages live only in memory and vanish when the session ends. Undelivered messages wait encrypted for at most 24 hours, then they are deleted.

Disappearing messages

Set a timer per chat, from 30 seconds to a week. Both sides delete the message when it runs out.

Groups and channels

Like Telegram, but encrypted. Groups where everyone writes, channels where only you post. Invite by @handle or by a link whose keys never touch a server.

Pay inside the chat

Send 1, 10 or 100 zkTRACE through Shield as a ZeroLink right in the conversation. Nobody can link the payment to you.

A full wallet

ZeroChain and Ethereum, send and receive, tokens, faucet. Use it as a wallet even before you claim a handle.

Shield and private swap

Shield notes derived from your recovery phrase, private send with a zero-knowledge proof made on your device, private swaps on ZeroDex.

One recovery phrase

Your wallet, your Shield notes and your chat identity all come back from the same 12 words on a new device.

Talk. Pay. Zero trace.

Download the extension, claim your @handle with test zkTRACE from the faucet, then start an encrypted chat or a channel. Everything runs on testnet.
